What are the benefits of social media in our classrooms?

One of the benefits of social media in a classroom is, if a student is absent from school that student can get any homework that was missed for that day and the student can also turn in any homework for that day as well.

The second benefit is if a student is having problems with homework outside of the classroom, the student will be able to send an email to their teacher to get help that they need.

The last benefit is that, social media sites make projects much easier for students to communicate with other students outside of the classroom.

What are the issues with social media?

One issue about social media is that, it allows students to put personal information online about themselves.

Second issue is that, students may accomplish less when it comes to their schoolwork/homework.

The last issue is that, parents and teachers do not monitor what their children/students do online.

How could you use social media to communicate with your students and their parents?

How I would use the social media to communicate with my students and their parents is to make sure that, I provide an email address so that if my students have any questions with homework they are able to email me with those questions. Also, if the parents have any concerns about their child they can email me with those concerns as well.
